The performance of security activities in New South Wales is governed by the Security Industry Act 1997 and Regulation. The intention of these laws is to provide the community with confidence in a professional security industry where competence, integrity and accountability are provided and maintained to a high standard.
The most significant aspects of these laws within our segment of the industry involve the licencing of manufacturers and installers. Licences have been granted in three key areas.
For industry employers and principal training organisations.
For manpower services [employees & sub-contractors].
For technical service staff, sales staff and training officers.
Holders of Class 1 and/or Class 2 Licences may only work for a Master Licence holder and therefore all of our staff are licenced for your security.
The security industry Act embraces any business or individual who engages in any security activity. This includes manpower services such as guarding, patrolling, body guarding and crowd control, and anyone who sells, repairs, services or maintains security equipment, who must hold a security licence.
Security equipment includes car and home alarm systems, locks and keys, barrier equipment (security doors and grilles), and any other device that purports to advise on security matters or to provide training in security.
As a master Licence holder Alsafe clients can rest assured of the highest levels of service and accountability.
